The Idea
Air pollution diminishes our quality of life. One of the main factors of air pollution is traffic. And in the 21st century, we have lots of it. More cars - more traffic. If only people could share their car, instead of everyone driving alone. They could hop in with someone who has the same route as them and split the bill as well. The same amount of people - fewer cars. And a greener planet as well.
The Technical Challenge
Lana is a mobile application that simplifies the way users find rides. It is a platform that allows drivers to offer rides, as well as allow passengers to request a ride or join a ride. The main goal of the ride-sharing mode is to allow users to split their costs for the ride. Everyone benefits, the driver and the passengers. The application also ensures that everyone pays their share of the bargain, providing security to the driver. There is also a Taxi Mode for the application, which allows users an easy way to find a taxi in their vicinity. No more asking for taxi company phone numbers or waiting for your call to be answered.
The Solution
Lana will let you filter the people you drive with so that you get the best experience. Don't want to talk in the morning? Worry not, you can state that and Lana will match you with similar people. You don't even have to worry about when you're going to arrive. We estimate the time needed for traveling and provide you with an estimation of your time of arrival. As a driver, you will get the best route to your destination and use Lana's map to navigate. That is only the beginning of Lana. There is a lot more to it. You will be able to taste the cake when it is out of the oven. Lana is planned to release in 2021 if all goes well.
