A smart hardware and software solution that transforms any e-scooter into a rentable asset, enabling seamless fleet management with secure cloud connectivity, real-time tracking, and minimal battery impact. Built in-house by CodeChem, it offers a complete, scalable solution for e-mobility businesses.
The Problem
Design hardware that can convert any e-scooter into a rentable asset along with the entire infrastructure required for running an e-scooter rental business. Ensure the least invasive and secure way to connect to a wide range of scooter models while ensuring that the battery life and the performance of the scooter are minimally affected.
The Idea
We're developing the first in-house hardware, leveraging our engineers' expertise in low-power firmware and wireless technologies to create a firmware solution that will communicate with the cloud over LTE and use BLE for the provisioning process.
The Solution
The hardware we've designed is comprehensive, including ESP32 as the main MCU, uBlox for GPS & LTE connectivity, and an MPU9250 IMU for additional features. The software, developed in C++17, has full OTA capabilities and uses MQTT for cloud communication. Communication with the cloud follows the industry standard for security. The device achieves the desired minimal impact on battery life. The backend and the end-user mobile applications are also developed in-house, allowing for a full solution.
