The company offers different commercial lines for insurance, like commercial auto, mass auto, commercial property, etc. The platform is aimed at creating a smooth user experience between the brokers and the underwriters. It offers a streamlined approach for insuring properties; it is integrated with third-party services that make filling out an application form straightforward and easy. It also provides agents with a direct communications channel with the underwriter for such a case. It also offers a predefined validation logic to warn the agents of possible files/information missing. It also offers a grouping of different insurance types under a "blanket" coverage.
Technical Challenge
Splitting up the UX into different logical parts for a smoother experience. The chunks keep the user focused on what is important for that section only while also keeping accessibility in mind.
Validation engine -> Each piece of information the user enters needs to update the state of the submission accordingly because field value changes can trigger different flows
Feature Flags
In order to ensure compatibility between different versions, feature flags are used for each feature while in development/staging lifecycle
Component Reusability
Different product lines share similar UX because of the reusability of the components. They are designed in a way not too abstract that forces a developer to write lots of code, but also flexible enough to be able to achieve a custom flow when required
